Your Opportunity

Are you a plumber looking to work in a small, efficient water & wastewater construction team? This could be the job for you!

In this role, you will contribute to the effective and efficient construction of our water and wastewater reticulation systems.

 

Term:                         Permanent, Full-time

Hours of Work:         76 hours per fortnight

Pay Level:                 $2,448.39 per fortnight (Level 6), plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading 

In addition to the above pay rate, you will receive payment of the following current applicable allowance:

  • Construction Allowance - $80.90 per fortnight; and
  • Above Award Payment - $205.74 per fortnight.

In addition, when required:

  • Live Sewerage; and
  • Working in the Rain. 

In accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience. 

Employment Base:  Warwick, Queensland

About the Department

The Water and Wastewater Department works within the Infrastructure, Assets and Projects Directorate and delivers on the water and wastewater obligations of Council, whilst providing a high level of customer service to the community. Council’s Water Team delivers the essential services of water and wastewater (sewerage) to the Southern Downs community. Water services starts at the source including the treatment and pumping of water, maintaining the network and providing water metering services. Wastewater services start with the property connection and includes maintaining the sewer network, managing pump stations and delivering wastewater treatment services at facilities across the region.

  • Provide leadership and use expert knowledge to ensure delivery of projects professionally and within budget and agreed timeframes;
  • Maintain a courteous manner when dealing with customers;
  • Undertake maintenance and construction of sections of the water and wastewater reticulation network;
  • Ensure that the work site satisfies Work Health and Safety requirements.

 

What You Will Need

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • The legal right to live and work in Australia
  • VACCINATIONS
    • Immunisation record indicating Q Fever AND Hepatitis A&B vaccinations or immunity; OR the ability to be vaccinated in accordance with Council's Immunisation Procedure.
  • LICENCES & QUALIFICATIONS
    • A current Plumbing and Drainage Licence (Queensland);
    • A Class C (Car) Licence or greater;
    • A White Construction Card, or the ability to obtain;
    • Enter and Work in Confined Spaces competency, or the ability to complete within three (3) months of commencement;
    • Current certificate for Working in Proximity to Traffic Awareness Parts 1 & 2, or the ability to obtain.
  • Well-developed understanding of relevant plumbing and drainage codes in relation to installations and the ability to relay this information to the crew
  • Sound computer literacy and the ability to utilise current workplace technology
  • Ability to complete site specific paperwork and monitor job costs
  • To be able to demonstrate your competence in relation to all of the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Position Description.
